What is Red Hat?
Red Hat, an IBM subsidiary since 2019, is built around Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), the OpenShift container platform, and the Ansible Automation Platform. RHEL provides the supported operating-system base; OpenShift adds an enterprise Kubernetes distribution with built-in CI/CD; Ansible automates configuration and operations across infrastructure, network and cloud. Each product is sold as a separate subscription with its own lifecycle and support terms.
