Purpose and scope
ITHub Directory helps IT professionals discover tools, understand their purpose and build a shortlist. Profiles are summaries, not certification reports or guarantees of suitability. Technical capabilities, prices and service terms can change, so important decisions should be checked against current publisher documentation and tested in the intended environment.
How tools are categorized
Categories describe the primary technical problem or operating area addressed by a tool. A listing can appear in several categories when its capabilities cross boundaries. Category inclusion does not imply quality, market leadership or endorsement. Empty categories are not indexed, and category pages should provide enough context to help a reader understand what belongs there and how to evaluate it.
Product information and sources
ITHub uses information available from product websites, documentation, repositories, release notes and submitted listing data. A visible source link or checked date applies to the specific fact being referenced. It does not mean every claim on the profile was independently tested. Unknown fields are left unspecified rather than inferred.
Collections and comparisons
Collections use structured attributes recorded on profiles, such as open-source status, self-hosting, API availability or pricing model. They are discovery tools, not rankings. Comparison pages are indexed only when ITHub has enough structured information and editorial context to explain a meaningful decision. Other product combinations remain available through the interactive comparison builder with limited claims.
Reviews and community contributions
An account is required to submit a review. ITHub moderates reviews for abuse, duplication, conflicts of interest and misleading content, but does not claim that every reviewer deployment or purchase has been independently verified. Reviews describe individual experience and should not be treated as universal product performance evidence.
Category leaders and traffic data
The Category Leaders page uses measured ITHub page views within each category. It represents attention on this website, not total market share, product quality or an analyst score. The result can change as traffic changes. Vendors cannot purchase a category-leader position.
Paid listings, affiliate links and sponsored content
Paid visibility is labeled. Payment can support placement or listing services, but it does not buy an editorial recommendation, review score or category-leader position. Affiliate links are identified and use the appropriate link relationship. Sponsored articles or listings carry a disclosure so readers can distinguish the commercial relationship.
Updates and corrections
Publication and modification dates show when a page was created or updated. Product-specific checked dates are narrower and relate only to the cited fact. Readers and vendors can report an error through the corrections process. Material corrections should update the affected page and its modification date.
