OVHcloud

OVHcloud is Europe's largest cloud provider and one of the top three cloud providers globally by server count, headquartered in Roubaix, France. Founded in 1999 by Octave Klaba, OVHcloud owns and operates its entire infrastructure including its own data centers, network, and hardware, providing a full range of cloud services including public cloud, dedicated servers, hosted private cloud, virtual private servers, managed databases, and CDN services.

The OVHcloud Public Cloud platform is built on OpenStack and provides compute instances, block storage (Ceph-based), object storage (S3-compatible), managed databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, Kafka), managed Kubernetes, load balancers, and a growing set of managed AI and data services. The OpenStack foundation means that organizations using OpenStack-compatible tools and APIs can migrate to or integrate with OVHcloud public cloud with minimal friction.

Dedicated servers are one of OVHcloud's strongest offerings and represent a significant part of its business. The dedicated server catalog covers entry-level hosting servers through high-performance gaming servers, storage servers with large disk arrays, GPU servers for compute workloads, and high-availability configurations. OVHcloud's manufacturing partnerships and in-house assembly processes enable competitive pricing on dedicated hardware with fast provisioning times.

The Hosted Private Cloud offering provides VMware vSphere and Nutanix environments deployed on dedicated hardware within OVHcloud data centers. This model gives enterprises the isolation, performance predictability, and compliance posture of private infrastructure combined with the operational convenience of a managed service. The VMware-based offering is particularly relevant for organizations already standardized on VMware technology.

OVHcloud Data Centers span over 40 locations across Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America. The European-first strategy, GDPR-compliant data processing, and data center ownership within EU jurisdiction make OVHcloud particularly compelling for European organizations with data residency and sovereignty requirements.

The OVHcloud anti-DDoS protection, called VAC (Vacuuming Attack Center), is included with all services and provides automatic mitigation of distributed denial-of-service attacks up to several terabits per second. This protection is delivered through OVHcloud's proprietary network infrastructure and requires no customer configuration.

OVHcloud Connect enables private, dedicated network connections between customer premises and OVHcloud infrastructure, providing consistent bandwidth and low latency for hybrid cloud architectures. The service integrates with major carrier networks and co-location facilities across Europe and beyond.
