What is Flowise?
Flowise is an open-source, low-code platform for visually building LLM applications and agent workflows, self-hostable under the Apache 2.0 license or usable via a managed cloud. Workday acquired Flowise in August 2025. In 2026 Flowise announced it is winding the product down: feature development stopped 29 July 2026, the GitHub repository was archived on 10 August 2026, and core team support ended 31 August 2026. The Apache-2.0 source stays on GitHub and can be forked, but it is no longer actively maintained by the original team.

Key capabilities
- Self-hosted core: Apache-2.0 licensed code, installable via npm or Docker, no longer officially maintained.
- Managed cloud (status uncertain post-sunset): previously offered Free, Starter ($35/mo) and Pro ($65/mo) tiers.

Before adopting Flowise, confirm the current status of the managed cloud service directly, since the sunset announcement gave no cloud shutdown date. For any existing deployment, plan a migration path or an internal fork, since the upstream repository is archived and read-only.
Given the announced wind-down, Flowise is not a safe choice for a new production dependency as of late 2026 - treat any self-hosted deployment as a fork you maintain yourself, since the original team's support has ended. Existing self-hosted installs keep running and the code stays available for community forks, but expect no further official updates.
