About Kubernetes
Kubernetes (K8s) is the industry-standard platform for container orchestration, automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. Originally developed by Google and now maintained by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), Kubernetes has become the foundation of modern cloud-native infrastructure.
The platform provides service discovery, load balancing, automated rollouts and rollbacks, self-healing, secret management, and horizontal scaling. Its declarative configuration model enables GitOps workflows where the desired state of infrastructure is version-controlled and automatically reconciled.
Kubernetes is available as a managed service from all major cloud providers (EKS, AKS, GKE) and can be deployed on-premises using distributions like OpenShift, Rancher, or vanilla Kubernetes. The CNCF ecosystem provides thousands of complementary projects for monitoring, security, networking, and storage.
