Docker is the platform that popularized container technology, providing tools for building, sharing, and running containerized applications. Docker Desktop provides a local development environment with Docker Engine, Docker CLI, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes, enabling developers to build and test containers on their workstations. Docker Hub is the world's largest container registry, hosting millions of container images including official images maintained by software vendors and community-contributed images. Docker also provides Docker Scout for container image analysis and vulnerability detection.
