Microsoft Hyper-V

Microsoft Hyper-V is a Type 1 hypervisor built into Windows Server and available as a free standalone product (Hyper-V Server). It provides enterprise-grade server virtualization with tight integration into the Microsoft ecosystem, including Active Directory, System Center, and Azure. Hyper-V supports both Windows and Linux guest operating systems and provides features such as live migration, storage migration, nested virtualization, and shielded VMs for security-sensitive workloads. The hypervisor is widely used in organizations with existing Microsoft infrastructure investments. Azure Arc and Azure Stack HCI extend Hyper-V's capabilities into hybrid cloud scenarios, allowing organizations to manage on-premises Hyper-V VMs alongside Azure resources through a unified management plane.
